Kanata Nordic is a volunteer-operated, not-for-profit organization that aims to promote lifelong activity, fitness and the enjoyment of the outdoors through cross-country ski programs offered in a friendly club setting. Through wholly volunteer efforts, they offer learn-to-ski programs for children, teens and adults. Kanata Nordic now calls Wesley Clover Parks home with a growing network of over 18km of ski trails for classic and skate-skiing.

The Child & Nature Alliance (CNAC) fosters meaningful connections with the outdoors for children and youth through policy, research, and practice. In 2014, Wesley Clover Parks partered with CNAC to launch the region’s first forest school. Today, CNAC continues to operate Forest School Canada, including the Forest and Nature School Practitioners Course, Risky Play workshops and Outdoor Play First Aid.

Andrew Fleck Children’s Services (AFCS) is one of the oldest and most diversified, multi-service early learning, child care and family support organizations in Ontario. In July 2019 the Ottawa Forest and Nature School transitioned to AFCS. Today, the Ottawa Forest and Nature School provides children with opportunities to build a relationship with the land, each other, and themselves.

Part of our ‘Play’ vision has been to build a Soccer Centre of Excellence in partnership with the West Ottawa Soccer Club, the largest club in Ottawa and second largest in Canada. The West Ottawa Soccer Club grows, promotes and strengthens soccer in Ottawa by providing all participants with quality development, recreational, representative and elite programs for life.

Marianne and Matt Gee became beekeepers in 2009 when they discovered and rescued a colony of honeybees living in the wall of their home. Today, they produce their own pure raw wildflower honey and work with beekeepers across Canada to offer premium honey varieties. Thanks to this partnership Wesley Clover Parks now hosts 6 of our own hives on site to support the bee population and harvest our own honey.

As the recognized Provincial Sport Organization, Ontario Equestrian (OE) leads the sector in the dynamic growth of equestrian sport through participation, education and support of both rider and horse. OE partners with Wesley Clover Parks to promote and grow youth engagement in the Ottawa Valley Area through programs Rookie Riders and Ticket to Ride, and cerifying our staff to assist with with youth development.

Bakker’s Trailblazers aims to introduce kids and adults to the joys of mountain biking! Their program provides all riders, the opportunity to progress on their own journey, allowing them to experience and enjoy mountain biking for the rest of their lives, be it for recreation or competitive racing. Building upon our existing trail network to create multi-use trails for these events reduces environmental impacts and offers the ideal conditions for beginner and intermediate mountain bike riders.

Wesley Clover Parks is home to the University of Ottawa Equestrian Team, a competitive club at the University of Ottawa. This team recruits riders of all levels, from those who have never ridden to those who have previous showing experience, and everyone in between! The team currently trains out of Wesley Clover Parks, and student athletes compete on the OCEA East Zone (Ontario) and IHSA Zone 2 Region 2 (USA) circuits.

“Help the Bats” focuses on protecting bat populations in Canada by encouraging groups in learning about Canadian bat species and the current threats to their survival, which includes habitat loss. Wesley Clover Parks now has four bat houses to aid in the survival of the endangered Little Brown Bat. These bat houses offer a space for the Little Brown Bat to roost during the spring and have its pups over the summer, giving its pups a chance for survival.

Oakdale Equestrian is a Hunter-Jumper equestrian team that operates out of Wesley Clover Parks with head trainer Colleen Howard.
