This 1.5-hour holiday session is based on our popular Discover Horses program with extra time in the barn, more interaction with our school horses, and more hands-on learning like basic horse care and navigating simple in-hand exercises.
Whether you’ve always wanted to meet a horse up close, are looking for a meaningful seasonal outing, or want to give an experience they’ll never forget, this is a perfect holiday activity!
During this fun and interactive 1.5 hour session, participants will:
Meet and spend time with some of our wonderful school horses.
Learn the basics of horsemanship, including grooming, leading, and introductory equine care.
Try simple in-hand exercises that build communication and confidence.
Discover the benefits of connecting with horses—patience, mindfulness, empathy, and more.
This program is designed for all ages, no prior horse knowledge required! Whether you’re a curious first-timer, a senior looking for a meaningful new activity, or simply spending some time with a loved one, this is the perfect way to experience the world of horses in a welcoming environment.
Registration is required, the cost of each session is $43.63 (including HST and processing fees).
Participant Information:
Location: Ian Millar School of Horsemanship, Wesley Clover Parks (401 Corkstown Road, Ottawa)
Parking & Entry: Park in the main parking lot and enter the barn through the big black door. Walk down the hall to the far end and gather outside the tack room.
What to Wear: All participants must wear closed-toe shoes. Please dress appropriately for the weather.
Registration: Space is limited, reserve your spot early! Tickets are non-refundable.
